“The duo opens with the country sensitive 'No Regrets' and you can immediately hear that Shelby Lanterman is loved in the country genre. A powerful and clear voice that will undoubtedly also be able to handle the stronger aspect. With 'Right Side' Texas' turns and the sound immediately becomes a bit more of a mix of country and southern rock. Here too, a voice that comes across as 'crystal clear' and makes the album rock a bit.”
“ Shelby, Texas is a country duo from San Francisco, California led by vocalist Shelby Lanterman. Their sound is fresh and pure, bringing back the traditional country sound but with a modern twist. The guitar work of her partner, Texas McCauley, is a thing of beauty He takes lead vocals on “Right Side,” “Home,” and “Gasoline.” We especially love the harmonies on “Home” and “Glory,” as the combination of their voices is downright heavenly. This duo has a bright future in the industry, and we highly recommend radio station managers, tour mangers and music supervisors take notice of this amazing duo. Recommendation: As the name of the first track suggests, if you Get this CD, you will have “No Regrets.” ”
“In the bands album, We Are Shelby, Texas, songs such as Right Side, Unrequited, Tennessee, Gasoline and No Regrets come out of the hybrid home of Californian mindset and Texas sensibilities and capture a mood that is exquisite and simply elegant, a match made somewhere on a peaceful Earth surely Shelby Lanterman and Texas McCauley, a different kind of scene that saw Country disregarded by some, but one in which the open embrace is to be felt and admired.”
“In the opening track, the nice rocking 'No Regrets', the formation shows what you can expect from Shelby, Texas. Nice country rock, in which southern rock and classical country resonate. The influence of California is that it has become a sunny album. Tasty voice of Shelby Lanterman, who gives the microphone to Texas McCauley for the more 'quiet', but later quite a bit out of the corner 'Right Side', that is not inferior to the vocals. The sunny is in the music, because in the lyrics the necessary broken hearts come along, as in Right Side, which strikes over the side of the bed where the other lay and in the 'Unrequited' sung by Lanterman in which the singer a hopeless infatuation sees placed. ”
“Shelby, Texas (from the album We are Shelby, Texas available as a self-release) History passes by in the story of “Home” as the song takes visitors down dirt roads, sharing times growing up small-town proud, the tale showing a lot of heart for the past and present. Powerful emotions pours from the words of male/female duo, Shelby, Texas, the delivery a template for the San Francisco Bay Area band’s recent release, We are Shelby, Texas. The band name puts a spot on the map for Shelby Lanterman and Texas MacCauley. We are Shelby, Texas is the debut release from the pair as they put a California Country brand on the tracks, backing the stories with Folk (“Unrequited”), Americana (“Gasoline”), Country Rock’n’Roll (“No Regrets”), and string band reveries (“Tennessee”).”
